The ROTAX CARE program is about to offer more than extended warranty protection.
ROTAX has announced a new partnership with Lightspeed Aviation that introduces the premium Lightspeed Delta Zulu ANR headset into the ROTAX CARE program. More importantly, the collaboration has produced a ROTAX-specific audio and Active Noise Reduction (ANR) profile designed specifically for pilots flying ROTAX-powered aircraft.
A Headset Designed Around the ROTAX Experience
Every engine has its own acoustic signature. The sound frequencies and cockpit environment of a modern ROTAX engine differ from those found in many traditional aircraft powerplants.
To address this, ROTAX and Lightspeed Aviation worked together to develop a dedicated ROTAX-optimized audio profile for the Lightspeed Delta Zulu headset. According to Lightspeed, the profile is integrated directly into the headset and is designed to counter the unique frequencies and cockpit acoustics found in ROTAX-powered aircraft. The goal is a quieter cockpit, improved comfort, and clearer communication during flight.

Available Through ROTAX CARE
The Rotax-optimized ANR profile will be offered as part of the ROTAX CARE program for eligible:
- ROTAX 912 iS and 912 iSc engines
- ROTAX 915 iS and 915 iSc engines
- ROTAX 916 iS and 916 iSc engines
Customers purchasing qualifying ROTAX CARE packages will receive a Lightspeed Delta Zulu headset.
One Headset, Two Listening Experiences
A unique advantage of the Delta Zulu platform is that users can switch between the ROTAX-optimized profile and Lightspeed’s Signature ANR profile.
This allows pilots to select the audio experience that best suits their aircraft configuration and personal preferences, providing flexibility while benefiting from the dedicated ROTAX tuning developed through the partnership.
Future Firmware Update for Existing Delta Zulu Owners
Lightspeed has confirmed that because the Delta Zulu uses a digital platform, the new Rotax profile will eventually be made available to existing Delta Zulu customers through a firmware update.
Once the update becomes available, headset owners will be able to update their units using the Lightspeed App via Bluetooth connection:
- Open the Lightspeed App and ensure you are using the latest version.
- Connect your Lightspeed Delta Zulu headset via Bluetooth.
- If a firmware update is available, select “Yes” to begin the update.
- Allow the update to download and install.
ROTAX CARE Benefits Remain Unchanged
While the headset offering is changing, the key elements of the ROTAX CARE program remain the same:
- Package pricing remains unchanged.
- Warranty terms and conditions remain unchanged.
- The ordering process remains unchanged.
- Existing Bose A30 headsets already supplied through the program will not be exchanged for Delta Zulu headsets.
