31 July 2026 marked an important milestone for aviation training in South Africa as Mega Aero Training Academy (MATA) successfully completed its first ROTAX Service & Maintenance Course following its appointment as a ROTAX-approved training centre.
The course represents the first training programme delivered by MATA after the recent transition of ROTAX iRMT training from Comet Aviation Supplies to the academy, ensuring the continued availability of high-quality ROTAX technical training for aircraft owners, technicians, and maintenance professionals.
A Successful Start
Following the official handover completed earlier in July, MATA welcomed its first group of delegates to its training facilities at Rand Airport, where participants completed the ROTAX Service & Maintenance Course under the guidance of the academy’s experienced training team.
The successful completion of the course demonstrates MATA’s readiness to provide professional, manufacturer-approved training while maintaining the high standards expected throughout the global ROTAX network.
